The Sealed Portion – The Final Testament of Jesus Christ

The Sealed Portion-Another Testament of Jesus Christ is the second part of the Book of Mormon, which millions of people throughout the world accept as the word of God along with the Bible. Joseph Smith, Jr. (1830), the founder of the Mormon faith, claimed to have received gold plates from an angel of God named Moroni. When he received the plates, Smith relates that 2/3 of them were sealed. The angel Moroni commanded him not to break the seals, but to translate only the portion of the plates t

I came across the “Sealed Portion” as well. I read Nemelka’s testimony, and a siginificant portion of the “sealed portion.” When deciding whether or not this is truly the work of God, one must determine whether the original Book of Mormon is the word of God. One cannot accept the “sealed portion” of the Book of Mormon as true without considering the original Book of Mormon to be true. With this in mind, I decided I would put it to the test set forth in Moroni 10:3-5 – I decided I would read and pray about it – trusting that the spirit would let me know whether it was in fact true. Upon reading (I did not read it in its entirety – only a little over half) and praying about it, several things stuck out to me almost immediately.

First, the title claims it is the “Final Testament of Jesus Christ” … this claim is completely inconsistent with the Book of Mormon itself (see 2 Nephi 29: 12-14), which tells all who read it that the Jews will have the words of the Nephites, the Nephites will have the words of the Jews, and the Jews and the Nephites will have the words of the lost tribes … Where are the words of the lost tribes if this is the “Final Testament of Jesus Christ?” Also, where in the scriptures is there an indication that Christ will no longer speak to man, except for when man is wicked and refuses to listen?

Second, according to the eye witnesses who handled the plates, about half to two-thirds of the plates were sealed. The Book of Mormon is approximately 779 pages. The “Sealed Portion” authored by Nemelka is approximately 668 pages. When one considers that Nemelka’s work not only allegedly contains the sealed portion of the plates Joseph Smith did not translate, but also the 116 pages of lost manuscript (not part of the sealed portion) and a history of how Nemelka obtained and translated the “sealed portion,” it becomes clear Nemelka’s work falls significantly short. If this were truly a translation of the “sealed portion” of the Book of Mormon, it would not be 668 pages, but rather more than 779 pages.

Lastly, true prophets of God present the message of Jesus Christ to the world, not the message of John the Beloved, the Three Nephites, Moses, Joseph Smith, or any other man. Nemelka claims to have been visited by Joseph Smith, John the Beloved and the Three Nephites, and that he is presenting their message to the World. Like Nemelka, Joseph Smith claimed to be visited by numerous prophets of old. However, the key distinction is that Joseph Smith never claimed to be presenting any other message than the message of Christ and that what he did was the will of God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. If Nemelka were a true prophet of God, he would not claim to be presenting the messages of other prophets, but rather the message of Christ himself. (see Revelation 19:20 – “for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” In other words, a true prophet will always testify of Jesus.)

I could go on but these points alone demonstrate that the “Sealed Portion” is not consistent with the teachings of Joseph Smith or the original Book of Mormon. It is either a cleverly disguised fraud or inspired from the great deciever of all mankind. Given the fact that it is written as well as it is and tends to draw people away from Christ by implying organized religion and obedience to the commandments are not required for salvation (coupled with the grace of Christ of course), I’m leaning towards it being inspired by the source of all lies. Who else would want mankind to believe that this is the “Final testament of Jesus Christ” thereby implying that He will no longer speak to man?

If I could give it a negative 5 stars I would! No true member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints will be deceived by this work of Satan. I, They, know that the promise made for the sealed portion to come forth in the due time of the Lord will come through proper Priesthood authority via the First Presidency of the Church. First and foremost the current prophet of the Lord/Church. Period. The “Lord revealeth nothing save He revealeth it to His prophets first”. End of Story. And WHO has the audacity/stupidity to label something the “final testament” of Jesus Christ? That’s just the tip of the iceberg. Exquisitely pathetic and laughable at best. Brother Nemelka you have been captivated by the Adversary and I can only pray for your release before it’s to late. May God have mercy on your soul. Yes, folks, what he’s done is that serious! If anything, I would ask you to humbly/sincerely read The Book of Mormon for yourselves FIRST and pray about it to receive a witness of it’s divinity and truth. I promise you’ll get an answer.

“What I did do was I deceived her [Christine Marie] religiously. I played with her religious beliefs and mind, which I do not think a person should do…”

“My whole purpose, though, was to write the sealed portion. Get the sealed portion done. Sell it to the church. My whole idea was to sell it to the LDS church. I was going to sell it to them, because all the Mormons are looking for the sealed portion to come back. I thought I had a good talent for writing. I was going to write it up and sell it to them. They could do with it what they wanted. They probably would have kept it off the market.”

“I set about in my own mischievous and arrogant way, of which I’m not proud of now, to prove that a person could actually write scripture and present it to people who were looking for certain scripture…I was playing on the belief that LDS people have that one day the gold plates would be returned and the sealed portion would be translated. Basically, I set about to write a fictitious version of the sealed portion as I thought Joseph Smith would have written it had he continued to perpetuate his translation of the gold plates. Much to the chagrin of the LDS church and others, what I wrote was indeed well versed and quite appropriate for the scripture I was trying to portray. Anybody who reads it would just be totally amazed.”

“My true intent was to somehow perpetuate a religion that would be based on true Christian principals of Christ-like love…Where I made my greatest mistake, for which I’m now extremely sorry for, is that I used deception to perpetuate what I proposed as the truth, assuming at the time that Joseph Smith had done the same thing.”

“See, when I did that thing with the fundamentalist group, there were people who wanted to kill me. They were so mad. When I came out and told these other polygamists, fundamentalist guys, that I had really written the sealed portion, that I had done it just to show people that it could be done—they were very upset.”

“When I deal with people, I am amazed at the ignorance and stupidity of most. People are so easily manipulated and deceived. Knowing this has made me a near master of manipulation. I try only to use this art, however, to help people. Sometimes the things I do seem terrible at the time, but usually the manipulation works to accomplish that which I intended.”

“Yeah that’s, that’s all bull****,” Nemelka said from jail. “All the revelations are bull****, of course. I made ‘em up.”

“I’m even glad you’re doing the article, in a way…I am, so that the sealed portion will never go anywhere. There’s a lot to it, a lot more than what you’ve got. In the wrong hands it could really wreak havoc on a Mormon church, which I don’t want to do.”
