Following Christ: The Parable of the Divers and More Good News

The groundbreaking book Believing Christ by Stephen Robinson has become a standard in understanding what it means to have faith in Jesus Christ and to be justified by faith in Him through the gospel covenant. Now, in Following Christ: The Parable of the Divers and More Good News, Brother Robinson explains what happens after we have entered the gospel covenant. He writes, “Where Believing Christ dealt with entering the covenant, this book will focus on staying in the covenant. If being truly conv

This is essentially the second volume of Robinson’s Believing Christ. And it is just as good as the first volume which deals with issues of salvation and how one can be saved. This one is focused on the “enduring to the end” part, the day to day life and how to hang in there and face all the challenges that come our way. It’s an encouraging piece of work that helps one understand more of what it means to remain in the Covenant with Christ. I highly recommend this book.

This book dovetails nicely with the first “Believing Christ.” I particularly enjoyed his unique perspective on already being in the kingdom and living life with that confidence. It also gives light on many common problems members face when they get too caught up in the culture of the church and begin to ignore doctrine.

This review is from: Following Christ (Kindle Edition)
This book, along with the prequel, Believing Christ, is one of my all time favorite books. I turn to it again and again, every few years, when I can’t deal with my life, and need to recalibrate my brain on how to keep going onward and upward. Mr. Robinson has the rare gift of being able to write so everyone can understand what he’s trying to get through to the reader, but still writing in such a beautiful, deep & soul moving way. I turn to this book, looking for answers and always set it down satisfied. I think of his analogies all the time. He offers new and surprising ways to deepen your relationship and understanding of the Savior. These two books are in my top 10 list of best books on this genre. Indispensable!
